The age old question of the Christian’s identity can hold us captive. The answer to the questions of who I am, what is my place in life, what is my purpose, and what has been given to me are in the Word. Let me remind you born again, new creations, that we are royal children of the King.

We are Kings and Priests and our position is seated with Christ at the right hand of God, the center of power of the whole universe. We are sharing His throne. His Power and Authority is transferred to us to go into all the world and do greater works than he did when he walked the earth.

The Lord Jesus shows us how a man, in the anointing power of the Holy Spirit can walk out that divine prayer that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We are to be reigning in life and having dominion over the enemy.

Our Father God wants His family together again, back to His original design. He wants man to see the restoration that is possible. The fall of man through Adam and Eve can find restoration. The devil continues to tempt man for bad, but the Lord can restore us through our position in the body of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God works his mightiest power when he raises Christ from the dead. These are powerful words in Ephesians 1:19. Paul uses the adjectives “dunamis” and “kratos” to describe this miraculous event, exceeding, greatness, of His power. In the Greek, “dunamis” carries the idea of explosive strength and might. And, “according to the working”, means a powerfully strong energy in operation “of his mighty power”. This power is the Greek word “kratos”, which means strength and dominating force.

When God dethroned all the power of the enemy, He worked His mightiest work. He disarms them, strips them, paralyzes and bringing them to nothing. Do you understand annihilate? That is, utterly destroying, eliminating their power over us. When we are dead in sin he makes us alive together with Christ, raises us up together, and makes us sit together with Christ at the right hand of God. We are His Body with Jesus being the head. We are in Him and He is in us. We are one in Him. Can’t get any closer than that.

He wants us to be together and do life together. He goes to great lengths to bring us back to Himself. To ignore or reject this free gift of union with him hurts His heart. It is your great loss not accepting such deep love for you. Many of us seek such love and acceptance in all the wrong places. Don’t let the devil steal your identity with reminding you of your past or current failures or any inadequacies or feelings of unworthiness. God is asking why you won’t be the King He sees that you are inside.

I know it’s hard at times to see past your humanity with all its flaws but the cure is to dive into His Word and ask Him to reveal all your deep and multilayered truths about who you are in Him. You’ll begin to see with new eyes that will transform you from meek and mild to a passionate lion full of power and authority conquering new territories, commanding and demanding, decreeing your life be all that God has intended for you to enjoy and walk in. No longer defeated but a victor.

When you are having one of those dark days, when you feel unloved and worthless, put on Christ, put on that new man that is hidden in Christ. Put on Christ and make no provision for the flesh.

Seek those things that are above where you are seated with Christ. Paul reminds us to seek to know Him and the power of His Resurrection. Remember that the Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. Throw on your robe of righteousness, put that ring on your finger that authorizes you to seal the fate of your enemy and then straighten your crown and be the King you were meant to be.
