Have you ever asked yourself this question? Of course, you have. Are you having a tuff time in your marriage with your spouse? We all have struggles and we would like to change our spouse maybe just a little bit so that they can act just right or perfect. Perfect or right who’s to say? I can tell you this with absolute honesty, you cannot change your spouse! You can however change your marriage, but let me warn you it is not for the weak or fainthearted; it takes a lot of hard work. Are you ready to do the work? Are you ready to put in the time? Are you ready to comment to having the best marriage that you can? If you said yes I applaud you, if you said no then stop reading this blog and go back to whatever you were doing before.
Notice I used the word commit? This is what you will have to do commit your spouse/marriage to God/ Holy Spirit. Sounds easy and it is, but it is also very hard at the same time. Confused yet? God/Holy Spirit will not force Himself on you, He is a gentlemen.
Let me ask you another question. What are you saying about your spouse? About your marriage? Are you declaring life (faith filled words), or are you speaking curses (negative words)? This is a very important question. You, your spouse and your marriage is where it is today, because of the things you said yesterday. Believe me it is true. You see for years I confessed things over myself, my spouse and my marriage that where factual, however not faith-filled. You see we are created in God’s image! God said, “Let there be light and there was light” Genesis 1:3 In fact, chapter 1 of Genesis says, before anything came into existence the first thing it says, is “God said”. Picture that if you will, God said and it happened. Remember we were created in His image. Genesis 1:27 “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him”. So what do you think, God said things happened and we are created in His image?
In the book of Deuteronomy 30:19 it says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
In the book of Proverbs 18:21, it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
In the book of Luke 6:45 it says, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
After reading what God say’s ask yourself, what are you saying? Are your words lining up with His? Are they faith filled? Or are they negative? Isn’t it time you did Psalm 141:3 “Set a guard over your mouth”, and watch what you say?
Remember if you want to change your tomorrow be very, very careful what you are saying today.
