Sunday’s church service was wonderful!
I like it when the Holy Spirit speaks to me in a word before a service, and repeats it to make sure I hear it!
Saturday as I was driving around doing errands, the preacher on my car radio said, “The word of God is powerful,” which I already knew; but when he spoke it, there was a punch to it. It lit something inside me. I repeated it out loud many times. I thought what else does He want to say about this?
When I arrived home, I decided to look it up for myself:
“The word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword…” Hebrews 4:12. “The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63
I looked at several scriptures on the word of God. Luke 8 showed me that the word of God is seed to be sown in my heart. But I need to make sure my heart is prepared to receive it. Not letting it just lay there, not putting some effort for it to get rooted. Not having my affections in things contrary to it. Not having so many other concerns that it gets choked out, otherwise, it will produce! It was great fellowship with the Lord on this one short phrase.
Then on Sunday, what do you know? Pastor James exciting message was titled, “The Inherent Power of God’s Word.” This happens quite often and I come to realize, God is speaking to me personally, which is quite special. Praise the Lord!
Thank you, Pastor James for the excellent word. It was very exciting.
