JESUS – The Bread of Life
Last month Mitch ministered on the 4th Sunday of the month at another church, Jesus the Bread of Life. On our way to the church, he was going to minister at, he asked me a profound question. “What does Jesus, the Bread of Life mean to you?”
I pondered on that question even through the church service. Then close to the end of the service I shared with Mitch this. I would like to share with you all as well.
This is what Jesus the Bread of Life means to me.
Blessed
Redeemed
Eternal
Anointed
Divine Destined
LIFE – John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Through Jesus, the Bread of Life we have:
A Blessed Life
Man was blessed from the very beginning.
Genesis 2:28a And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: …..
Even after Adam and Eve fell and sinned God was still in the business of Blessing his man. Just look at Abraham. Genesis 12:2 and 3 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families be blessed.
That’s powerful folks. God is still in the business of blessing. When we partake of Jesus the Bread of Life, we are blessed.
A Redeemed Life
God is the author of true redemption. He sent his son Jesus to redeem all of mankind.
Psalms 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant forever: holy and reverend is his name.
Psalms 130:7 – 8 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption, and he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:
We are redeemed because of what Jesus did on the cross for us.
An Eternal Life
In the beginning we were created eternal beings. We were created in Gods image.
Genesis 1:26a And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
Vs 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
There is no in between folks. Just male and female. Gods Devine Design.
John 10:28a And I give unto them eternal life.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.
We have eternal life because of what Jesus did for us on the cross.
An Anointed Life
God anointed us and gave us the Holy Spirit.
II Corinthians 1:20-22 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Now he which stablished us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
Who hath sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
We have an anointed life in Christ because of what He did on the cross.
Divine Destiny
We have a divine destined life in Him, in whom, IN JESUS.
We have been destined to be with him in eternity. That alone excites me.
John 14:2 In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
We are destined to have an abundant life.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, kill and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly.
We are destined to have a divine health filled life.
I Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.
The Goodness of our God gave us Jesus the Bread of Life. I could continue for there is so much more I could share, but I will leave you to partake of more of the bread of life. I just wanted to share from my heart what Jesus, my best friend, loving savior, big brother, Thee Bread of Life, means to me.
I will leave you with these words of JESUS:
John 6:32 and 33
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth LIFE unto the World.
