Loneliness

You are never alone.

Loneliness is common to us all but knowledge alone cannot solve the problems loneliness causes. However, knowledge coupled with wisdom can be very helpful in limiting the negative effects of loneliness in your life.

While loneliness feels like an emotional problem based on unchangeable circumstances, it’s actually a perception problem that can lead to emotional, spiritual, and even physical challenges.

God has not created you to be adrift in a sea of loneliness. He not only knows the intimate details of your life, He has your best interests foremost in His mind.

Learn to lean on the Lord in your times of loneliness. He can and will comfort you. Allow Him to meet your deepest longings and to fill you with His love through prayer and searching for Him in Scripture.

Anger

Tempering Your Fiery Emotions

June Hunt

Did you know that the forest rangers who protect our national parks say that occasionally they have to start a fire to stop a fire? Well at times, God works for your good in much the same way. In fact, Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be angry but do not sin.” So God clearly intends for you to experience anger and to use it for a positive purpose.

For example, you may have anger because you’re jealous. Well that helps us see spiritual problems within ourselves. Or we can have anger because we see injustice. And in that way, the anger lets us know there’s something and we’re called to action to do something about the wrong.   So allow God to direct your anger and to use it for His purpose. As you let God use your anger for good, you will become an example to others and bring praise to Him.

Matthew 5:16 says. “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and Praise your Father in heaven.”

Worry

The Joy Killer

Worry is a like a thief in the night that steals your peace. God never intended you to live fearfully focused on the future…a hostage to an emotional heist.

In fact, Philippians 4, says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

“Peace”! Who doesn’t want to live with a peaceful heart…with a peaceful mind? You can when your security is in the Lord.

Worry is a joy killer, strangling your spirit and soul. By worrying, you choke the joys of today. Don’t worry about tomorrow, God is already there.

Fear

“How Can I Be Triumphant Over My Fear?”

Among the thousands of people mentioned in the Bible, Gideon is selected by God to be one of the few in His famous “Hall of Faith.”  Now, this “Hall of Faith” found in Hebrews chapter 11, illustrates the power of living by faith and highlights the true heroes of the faith.

Gideon’s transformation from being fearfully timid to being fearlessly triumphant is evident in the book of Judges, as Gideon and his small army conquered the mammoth army of the Midianites.

Instead of retreating from fear, this once meek man became the “mighty warrior” God called Him to be. The mighty man of valor. Well we can all live the life God called us to live. That means we can be free of fear.

1 Peter 5 says, “Humble yourselves, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
